Amla

Amla

Pearl: Emblica Officinalis Fruit (Amla) Powder

Contained in: Ayurvedic Hair & Scalp Oil, hair butter

Our amla comes from controlled organic cultivation and originally comes from India.

Amla powder is made from the crushed leaves of the Indian gooseberry. In addition to cosmetic use, it has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries to treat everything from diarrhea to jaundice.

The vitamin C it contains ensures cell renewal on the scalp, which can counteract the formation of dandruff. In addition, it has a strong anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effect and prevents itching and combats scalp irritation.

The contained vitamins and minerals (magnesium, calcium, iron, potassium, zinc) together with the phytonutrients in amla increase blood circulation in the scalp, which stimulates hair growth. The blood circulation ensures that the scalp is supplied with all the important nutrients and oxygen. In addition, blood circulation promotes the anagen phase (growth phase) of the hair.

The tannins and minerals such as calcium contained in amla protect the hair from all types of light and heat damage, thus promoting healthier hair. Tannins are phenolic compounds that easily bind to hair's keratin proteins, protecting them from breakdown and preventing hair breakage.

Amla is also rich in vitamin E, which makes hair soft and shiny while preventing frizz.
